Last Frontier Surveying and Engineering LLC is a family owned and operated business based in Juneau, Alaska, since 2018.  Co-owner and Principal Surveyor & Engineer, Alec Venechuk, is a life-long Alaskan.  He has dedicated himself to family, a rewarding career, and being an active part of the community he lives in with his wife and children.  Being dually licensed as a land surveyor and engineer in Alaska, Alec provides the professional and technical skills and abilities that your project requires, while removing costly overhead and red tape typically found with larger consulting firms.

We provide expert and reliable land surveying and land development technical services for both commercial and residential property owners. Last Frontier can guide you through your local city, borough, or the State of Alaska subdivision platting process to ensure that your project will meet applicable codes and requirements, while at the same time satisfying your goals and plans for your investment. 

If your property corners on the ground have never been set (with monuments), or if one or more of your property corners has been disturbed or lost, Last Frontier can perform the record documents research and fieldwork necessary to re-establish and monument your corner location.  A newly recorded plat of the subject property is typically the result of this process. 

A Location Survey (or Asbuilt Survey, as it is sometimes referred to) of your property is commonly required by financial lenders or by local building permit authorities as part of the purchase or development process of real property.  Last Frontier will survey the visible corner monuments and improvements on the property, and produce a map to satisfy your needs.

If your property abuts tidewater, Last Frontier can delineate the current location of Mean High Tide and advise you of the existing location of your riparian (waterfront) boundary.  Last Frontier can prepare the documents necessary for you to obtain quiet title to the land between your original meanders and the current  Mean High Tide line.

Prior to an engineer or architect's design work, a topographical survey is beneficial for site planning a drainage design.  Last Frontier can develop the digital drawings necessary for your project to advance from concept to reality.

From the initial design site feature and topography survey, to construction layout, to final project asbuilts, we work closely with your team to ensure that your project is completed on time and within budget.

An ALTA/NSPS survey has special requirements and provides detailed information about a property's boundaries, improvements, and easements. We have extensive experience capturing the necessary data and conveying it on an expertly drawn map.

Last Frontier can perform a flood and elevation certificate survey to help a property owner determine whether their property is in a flood hazard zone. Typically, this type of survey is necessary to satisfy insurance purposes.
